About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Design Draughtsperson to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves creating accurate and detailed models, layouts, and drawings that meet the clients standards using CAD software and data management tools. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in mechanical design, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 2D/3D models, drawings, and layouts using CAD software
• Perform design calculations to ensure the integrity and feasibility of components
• Manage BOMs, work orders, and routing within JDE
• Update drawing register and maintain design checklists
• Adhere to quality, safety, and ISO standards in all designs
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers to resolve design challenges
• Supervise and support installation of new designs when required
• Assist in product development and market research initiatives

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science
• N6 Mechanical Engineering
• Draughting Diploma
• Recognised training in relevant CAD software (2D/3D)
• Minimum 5 years of technical experience in within the manufacturing industry (experience working with moving parts like gearboxes and motors etc.)
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD)
• Valid driver's license & willingness to travel outside South Africa
